Dr. Zavala studied at the National Autonomous University of Mexico in Mexico City, receiving his Medical Degree, Suma Cum Laude, in 1977. From 1978 1981, he completed his Residency in General Surgery and Internal Medicine and then a Fellowship in Cardiology, and Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at the internationally renowned National Institute of Cardiology in Mexico City from 1981 1983 and 1992 1993, respectively. He received recognition as best resident in both internal medicine and cardiology. From 1995 1998, he completed a second Internal Medicine Residency at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix AZ, to fulfill U.S. requirements. Dr. Zavala was Chief Resident, Internal Medicine, from 1997 1998. |

He completed a fellowship in Cosmetic Surgery at Millennium Cosmetic and Laser Institute from 2003 to 2007 and opened CIAO BELLA MEDICAL SPA @ VEIN CLINIC in Chandler Arizona in December 2007. Dr. Zavala is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Vascular Medicine and the American Board of Echocardiography. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology as well as a Fellow of the Society of Cardiac Angiography and Intervention. Dr. Zavala has received NASPE Exam Certification in cardiac pacing and defibrillation. He is member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and the American Society of Liposuction Surgery. He is also member of the American College of Phlebology and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. Since 2000, Dr. Zavala-Alarcon has served as an Instructor in Medicine at Mayo Medical School in Scottsdale, Arizona and Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Centers College of Medicine in Tucson. Prior to the opening of CIAO BELLA MEDICAL SPA @ VEIN CLINIC in late 2007, Dr. Zavala was Director of the Cardiology Department at both Maricopa Medical Center and Phoenix Memorial Hospital where he was recognized by his peers and medical residents with the best teacher award on multiple occasions. He is a very experienced and well published interventional cardiologist and cosmetic surgeon with hundreds of successful procedures performed during his fellowship in Cosmetic Surgery. His qualifications as an experienced physician and surgeon and his outstanding abilities in Cosmetic Surgery together with a unique sense of the esthetics give to his patients a rarely encountered mix of extreme security with any surgical procedure and the unique results many satisfied patients have already documented.
